WHAT IS PAQUEBOT MAIL?
Paquebot Mail is Ship's Mail. The term is French, a language that is standardized as the semi-official international postal language. 'Par Avion' for example is used almost universally to indicate Air Mail. Paquebot means Pack Boat, or Transport Boat.
By international agreement, any mail delivered onto shore from a ship at sea, franked with the stamps of any country, must be honored by the receiving post office on shore. The receiving post office is deputized to cancel the stamps on the mail and to deliver the mail without additional postage due levies.
The covers posted here on this blog are my own fantasy creations.
