THE PALEOLITHIC ROOTS OF SHAMANISM
This painting, one of my early works, incorporates earth pigments
with milk glue, or casein, in conjunction with watercolor.
The storybook imagery takes us into that fairyland to which many
shamans are accustomed. The figure with the antlers is the shaman.
This sort of antlered figure has been found in Paleolithic art from
Europe, and hence is quite ancient.
