The Provisional Post Office of Kalapa

These stamps are postal fantasy issues from what appears to be a
provisional post office. Provisional postage stamps are those that are
issued by a local government, city, county or province in lieu of regular
postage stamps being available from the postal authority of the country
in which the provisional post office has been set up. These have historically
been available for limited postal use, though usually the stamps are not
recognized by the Universal Postal Union or other postal authorities as
postally valid.

These stamps, being artist stamps, or faux postage renders the designation
of 'provisional post' to the realm of fantasy. Thus these are 'faux provisional
stamps.'

CINDERELLA STAMPS FROM SHAMBHALA NOR

These stamps depict the Tibetan female teacher Ye-shes
m'tsorgyal, who was one of the great interpreters of Dakini
wisdom in Tibet.

Her name means 'Sea Wisdom,' and is rendered in Sanskrit
as Jnanasagara.

Her writings contain in part a description of how King
Kalki of Shambhala will arise to restore Buddhism from
the ravages of the barbarians.

For more about Jnanasagara, Kalki, and the legend of Shambhala, see my post:
