An Allegory of Spring
This wax resist was painted in a small studio at 1400 feet in
the Sierra Nevada foothills. This terrain is filled with valley
oaks, gray pine, ponderosas and manzanita. The outcrops of
granite have clusters of stonecrop, a native succulent. It was
always the first green leaf of the dwarf oak that was the first
sign that spring was on the land.
