THE ISLE OF CANTHARIDIA
Insofar as the stamps of Cantharidia, a phantom isle off the coast of Scotland, are not recognized as valid for postage on the mainland, MacDuggie, an enterprising Scotsman, established a postal tax 'service' to ensure that remuneration is certified in covering delivery costs once the Cantharidian mails reach Scotland. LOL
Marannan Puist, which is Gaidhlig or Scots Gaelic for Sea Post, is a courier service that handles deliveries across the sea.
The Cantharidian stamps seen on these covers feature the 'Krater of the Whale Women.' These women live today on Cantharidia, being a regal form of selkie.
