The Birthing Goddess Concept
A Goddess sculpture which depicts the female form in fashion
where she is seen to be bent at an angle is an ancient tradition
of Goddess iconography. Such Goddess images are referred to
as 'birthing Goddesses.'
Very frequently one finds that Goddess forms were utilized to
help with fertility in many ancient cultures.

Figurative Ceramic Amulets
APPROACHES TO CERAMIC SCULPTURE
The amulets seen on this post are selected as examples of
figurative abstraction. My approach has been to give my
ceramic miniatures a rough hewn appearance.
I began with stone carving as a sculptor, prior to my involvement
in ceramics. This has lead to a 'carved' texturology in my clay
works.
