Fauvist Cyberstamps by Eric Whollem
The term 'cyberstamp' is variously used. The purist would define a
cyberstamp as a digital image of the faux postage or cinderella genre,
presenting the design of a stamp not yet issued on paper with perforations.
Thus the perforations seen in such a cyberstamp image are ones that are
computer generated--a digital fantasy.
However one sees the term 'cyberstamp' more loosely used as well,
indicating merely that the stamps seen on a webpage online are
just that: stamps seen on the computer screen. These could be actual
postage stamps issued by countries for postal use, as well as artist stamps
created by individual artists.
