NEOPRIMITIVISM

This painting, "The Aboriginal Triad"  is an "Australoid"
fantasy. Painted with thick watercolor paint called gouache,
light colors over dark, it bears a measure of resemblance
to Aboriginal art.

The term "primitive" is no longer used by anthropologists,
as so-called primitive societies can be quite sophisticated.

The term "neoprimitive" is a vestigial term that one hears
applied to art from time to time. As to whether this term
is an acceptable one is a matter of opinion.
