THE FOLK SONGS OF THE FISH WIVES OF DELPHYS
This stamp from Delphys shows the dress of the mercantile
class of the Empire. Shown is a worker going to market.
She is a fish wife, or woman engaged in the sale of products
from the sea.
The fish wives of Delphys are excellent singers, and sing
wonderful folk songs as they carry their wares to the
marketplace.
On special occasions in the Temple, the fish wives are
commonly seen as members of the Chorus of the Naiads.
