THE PRINCIPALITY OF KOORA IZLENDI

Koora Izlendi and the Isle of Ceero comprise the Principality of Izlendi, which was established 500 years ago off the coast of Cybrea. The explorer  Rexhell Dupp Rominotron discovered the islands in 1567. During the 19th century innovative Prunch Dormanodd Karbag Rominotron III became the ruler who established the first postal service of the islands. He also created a successful line of trinket shops which brought in much revenue to an otherwise impoverished realm. Princess Ennibool Katchitanodl was his bride. Her line of mermaid embroideries helped sustain the trinket shops of her husband.

In the early 20th  century Prunch Merkon de Koora brought modern industry to the land with the establishment of Merkon Ettodomion. At this time the newfound wealth of the islands attracted the greedy rulers of Cybrea who attempted a series of invasions. Merkon manufactured whale skin boots which were popular in  the markets of Eastern Amphora. 

After the conquest of Cybrea by the Digby Brothers, peace came to the islands, with the halting of the ancient war with the people of the mainland.

SCHERIA AND ATLANTIS

Scheria is a Greek island that has been identified as Atlantis by some Atlantean theorists. Ogygia  and Thera are other islands associated with Atlantis over the centuries.

The Tarby Archipelago is a small group of islands off the coast of The Kingdom of Undinia. The principality is an autonomous territory of Undinia, having been ruled by folk of royal blood for centuries.

The Selkie's Lair Local post is an independent regional local postal service operating out of the northernmost island of the Tarby Archipelago.

A SHORT ACCOUNT OF THE ISLE OF WORRO WORRO

In 1817 a derelict pirate ship pulled into Dooblong Bay on the isle of Worro Worro. Billy and Shark, two young shipmates, were sent ashore to find water. They were met by an emissary of King Kookilannu Ennu who gave them coconut milk.

Shortly the indigenous inhabitants of Worro Worro, seeing the chance to sail the seas, joined the pirate crew of Captain N. Dooblong.

After a time a joint rulership emerged on Worro Worro, wherein Kookilannu and Captain Dooblong ruled together. Barbarosa, a native of Worro Worro became the lieutenant Governor.

The Kingdom of Undinia, who claim overseership of Worro Worro, regard the island as part of their Commonwealth.

THE DUKE OF RATTU

Rattu Isola, or the Isle of Rattu, was discovered by the Duke of Rattu, whose ship had been lost at sea. Today, 750 years later, the postal administration of Rattu Isola commemorates the history of the island.

The Societa di Stampa in Tikka issued some special stamps this last year with  images of the art of Burnes Jones, the Preraphaelite. LOL

Rattu Isola lies in the Sea of Varuna off the coast of Cybrea,

ERICHTHONIOS

Erichthonios is the ancient Greek name for the sacred Sea Serpent according to contemporary books such as the Womans' Encyclopedia of Myths and Secrets by Barbara G. Walker. This divinity had his own temple in the Parthenon. The nation state named after this divinity exists today on the Continent of Amphora. LOL

The map stamp in this blog post shows the boundaries and various cities of this region. The Altar of the Sea is a symbol of the yearly Festival of the Amphitrite. LOL

THE KUKSU EXPRESS LOCAL POST

The Kuksu Express is a fantasy Maidu Indian local post from Butte County, California. The cover above shows a street scene in Oroville, the capital city of Butte County. The local Indians called Oroville Opatoni. This designation comes from the time that Oroville was called Ophir Town.

In the photo above Oroville did not look too good, as it had gone through a great flood. Today the pristine old town is marred by modern parking lots and shopping malls. The old gold mines under the city are deeply buried under successive floods. The buildings seen today in the old downtown area are in fact the upper sections of old structures, buried under mud and debris. What you see today at street level are the old third stories of the original buildings.

The cancellation shows that this letter was mailed from Mooretown Ridge, an area in the Sierra Nevada Mountains known for the scenic Feather Falls overlook.

I have created a number of Mooretown Provisional postage stamps over the years. My first issues were made in 1999.

THE PONDEROSA WAY LOCAL POST

Ponderosa Way is an old road from built in the 1930's, to serve as a fire road along the length of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. I have taken liberty with historical accuracy, having it appear as an apocryphal road in the Butte County area in the 1880's. Obviously the Civilian Conservation Corps who built the road adapted the name of their road from the one created in my literary imagination. LOL

For Butte County I idealized a local postal service along this route that connected Mooretown Ridge with Forbestown Ridge. One postal substation was located at the Gold Flake Bar in the Feather falls area, the other substation I conceived to exist at the Last Outpost, a bar in Forbestown. Whether these bars existed at this early time may not be historical, but should be, to keep the story here straight. LOL The high postage rate was to accommodate cost of liquor to pay the mail courier, who had to fight through miles of poison oak and rattlesnakes to deliver the mail. This is only fair, because at this time Ponderosa Way was a mish mash of old bear trails that that not yet been  surveyed nor graded by the Conservation Corps. LOL

Now I have heard that certain postcards and covers from the Ponderosa Local Post have appeared at auction, selling at high prices for their alleged 'bear bite damage.' Apparently the postal couriers met with trouble along the trail. But these items are greatly in doubt for authenticity. I would advise taking them for forensic analysis by a qualtified cryptozoologist with a paraphilatelic background, to be sure of what you have.  It has been reported that some 'bear bites' were in fact poodle bites. So watch out. LOL

The above postcard is adapted from an old photo of  a gold miner from Butte County, California. This is actually factual! LOL The card was franked on the back, with the address on the other side.
