THE STAMPS OF AQUITOONIA
Aquitoonia is a small island nation off the coast of Merreminde in Southern Amphora. LOL. The Aquitoonians are descendants of the Occitan people. Aenor the Queen Mother and Eleanor appear on the stamps of this nation, which is a protectorate of the Kingdom of Merreminde.
The mail of Aquitoonia is often referred to as Ghost Mail, insofar as the population of this land lives on the other side. Some letters are hand stamped with a device which reads 'Correal Real' which translates as Royal Mail. Other letters often see the marks of oceanic delivery services such as the Val d'Uru Companyia Missatgeria, or the Val d'Uru Delivery Company.
Many letters in this selection were sent to Murach, the closest city on the Merreminde main. The postage due levies of the Merreminde postal service are charged on these letters.
The most distinctive Aquitoonian mail delivery service is rendered by the Sea Wagon. Covers franked with the expression Correu del Vago de Mar were transported by this curious means. The Sea Wagon is an archaic transport vehicle that originated in traditional carnivals of the Aquitoonians.
