Gouache Medium

Gouache is a type of opaque watercolor paint, sometimes
referred to as 'designer's gouache.'  I enjoy working in this
medium, as the pigment is delicate in comparison to acrylic
paints, which are often a bit pasty in texture.

The brown background color in this work hearkens to my
use of natural earth colors for pigment, but all the paint
in this work came from the tube.
