Bird Woman, The Ancient Goddess Archetype
I interject this goddess drawing to accompany images of
the Bird Woman sculptures that I was making in the 1990's.
Bird Woman shows the power of the shamaness to take flight.
In the Rig Veda, the oldest literary record of the human race,
composed in the Himalayas and mountains of Central Asia,
Bird is often mentioned . Bird is the poets' name for the
Supreme Goddess, who dwells by fountains in the sun.
I have taken the liberty of digitally enhancing 18 years later
a drawing done in India inks, draughted with a reed pen.
