A Goddess of the Sea
Thetis is a Nereid, or salt sea mermaid, from ancient
Greek mythology. She was mother of the hero Achilles,
who fought in the Trojan War.
The Nereids are the daughters of Nereus and Doris.
They are beneficent and saviors of sailors at sea.
