SHEIK ZABABBA McBINK

Sheik Zababba McBink is one of the pseudonyms of Scarabeus Binkel, a notorious rogue philatelist from Binkel County. After the collapse of his Binklish Empire along the Barbaru Coast, he went incognito, disguising himself as one of the indigenous inhabitants of the coast of the Sea of Glass.

Scarabia had already been designated as one of Binkel's colonies; but he decided to forgo obvious rulership of the area, posing as one of the local Sheiks.

The cover above was sent to Moruvgach, a nation to the south in West Merreminde.

THE JEEMTUN DISPATCH

Jim, one of Scarabeus Binkel's shipmates settled some time ago in  Scarabia, establishing a pub along the coast. Finding that the natives of the area disapproved of spiritous liquors, he turned to coffee merchant, creating a line of coffee shops through the region.

The boat on the above stamp was one of his coffee boats, seen frequently along the Sea of Glass.'

Jim, or Jeem as he came to be called, operated as postmaster in the port of Jeemtun. He utilized a line of stamps of his own creation for his local postal service.

SHEIK ZABABBA McBINK'S PERSONAL PHILATELIC MARKINGS

Zababba, as Postmaster General of the Zababba Emirates, collected his own works, the covers that you see posted here. He did not care much for performing actual postal functions, but preferred to merely collect the mails that sometimes gathered in the bins in his coffee houses and port authorities.

He hoped one day to include them in a great postal history of the Barbaru Coast that long was one of his pet projects.

The cover above has a curious red handstamp prepared by Zababba, which reads 'SHEIK ZABBABA McBINK'S Cover Collection/ Do Not Spindle, Fold or Eviscerate by Penalty of ....(obscure)'.

THE MAP OF THE ZABABBIAN EMIRATES

The map on the stamps above shows the location of Moruvgach as well as the small countries which comprise the Zababbian Emirates. These include Dunn al Sandi (Land of Dunes),Waraq Aljudren (Wallpaper), Al Tazwir (Forgery), and Wahmia (Bogus). It was always Zababba's hope to see these stamps included in every child's assortment of stamp approvals in the mail. But alas his dream was never consummated, as he soon lost interest, developing a series of stamps for his Empire of the West, where he converted the local Giant population to the delights of paraphilately and lead them on an expedition to Wook Wook Island to conquer the Sasquatch.

The above letter is an example of business mail, sent from the offices of the Daryuun Surveyors in Khana Oasis to the Camel Drivers' Payroll Office.
