Dr. Mortimer Skwak's Philatelic Adventures
in Faux County

Dr. Skwak, a stamp dealer, discovering that a county near where he lived had issued a new set of stamps, was eager to travel to Dead Bee, capital city of Faux County, to procure some of these new Faux Postage stamps.

Arriving in Dead Bee, and ferreting out the post office, located in a back room at Bodine's House of Infamy, attempted to buy some of these stamps, but discovered that the cost of them was 2 cents for locals, but $200 for Outlanders.

Complaining to the Postmaster, G.G.Grebb, that he was a philatelist, the Sheriff was called in to arrest him, as Philately was illegal in the county.

He discovered that he could get release from Sheriff Jeb's Bed and Breakfast by applying for a permit at the County Clerk's Office. This permit was $100 a month.

Later when he tried to send out some philatelic covers back home to Hikkup, in Hogg's County, he was chagrined to find that according to the fine print on the contract at the county clerk said that additional levies could be administered for each philatelic activity. So each of the covers you see here has a Faux County Revenue stamp or stamps to the equivalent of $100 each.

Fortunately Dr, Skwak was a wealthy stock holder in the Hogg's County Railway, and could afford these charges. But he was careful not to let them know that he would pay any price they asked. :)

Dr. Skwak was most careful not to tell Postmaster Grebb that what he was attempting to do was to create a philatelic analomy by applying a cinderella to this cover for postage. In a place where philately was illegal, there was no telling the trouble he would get into if he brought 'cinderellas' into the picture.
