NOTES ON KANDINSKY'S PIONEERING ROLE IN ART

When Kandinsky wrote his book, 'On the Spiritual in Art,'
he set a precedent that has influenced much of modern art. He
maintained that abstract forms and colors in of themselves
contain a spiritual message and meaning.

Kandinsky is considered by some as the father of abstract
painting. Organic, geometric, and expressionistic art were
all explored in Kandinsky's pioneering work at the Bauhaus.
