MT. SHASTA VOLCANIC PUMICE
Homeopathic Earth Art

Many of my sculptures are finished with volcanic pumice from Mt. Shasta,
a mountain revered by many as a sacred site. A variety of purples, violets,
lavenders, as well as earthy buff colors may be found in the area.

Adding natural materials to one's art is parcel of what might be termed
'homeopathic' art. Homeopathy is usually thought of as a part of medicine;
but art is a medicine for the spirit.

Parvati, 'The Daughter of the Mountain,' from Hindu lore, is said to be the
bride of Shiva.
