Momih Kollem

Momih Kollem means Water Woman in the language of
the Concow Maidu Indians of Northern California.

This mixed media painting includes sand and earth gathered
in nature by the artist.

The Maidu song that goes (something like): 'Momih le, momih
le tai yonde, tai yonde, tai yonde,' meaning 'The rain is falling
on the eastern mountains' is reflected in this work.
