A Fantasy Semi-Postal Stamp From Amphora

This is my first cinderella semi-postal stamp. I have been
creating fantasy issues from Amphora for some years now.
The currency of Amphora is the 'krater.' This stamp issue
is denominated at 50+20 kraters. The surcharge ostensibly
is for a charity named 'The Mermaid Hospice Fund.' This
organization, of course, does not exist; but is a literary
construction.

Such stamps are also called 'micronation stamps.'  There
are many creators of micronations, who as a hobby generate
fantasy lands, sometimes with flags, maps, coats of arms, as
well as 'postage stamps.'

The Beneficent Nereid

A Nereid is a mermaid who is a savior of sailors and
others drowned at sea. These figures from Greek
mythology should never be construed as malignant
Sirens.

Naiads are linked with medicinal hot springs in many
cultures, especially in Europe. The Naiads are fresh
water mermaids, while the Nereids are associated with
the salt sea.

The Nereids were anciently viewed as seal maidens.
In this they are prototypes for the Selkies of Celtic
legend.
