ABORIGINES AND LEMURIAN ART

This stamp features as a centerpiece a painting I created in 1973.
It is painted with earth pigments gathered in nature by the artist.
This includes charcoal, ground in a mortar, wood ash mixed
with casein (milk) glue, and decomposed granite and other
minerals. It is painted on rough plywood.

I used sticks as paint brushes, much like the Australian
aborigines.

Ancient Lemuria and Modern Art

Mt. Shasta is a traditional center for metaphysical speculations, among
which theories about the Lost Continent of Lemuria are paramount.
Local folklore has it that Shasta is a home of a remnant of a race of
people from the now sunken continent of the Pacific.
