A Work Reflecting My Study of Modoc Indian Rock Art

This work was painted after a trip to the desert
north of Mt. Shasta. I have visited the Modoc Lava
Beds National Monument a number of times.

The rock art visible to the public at the Petroglyph
Section depicts numerous triangular symbols that
easily can be read as indicating mountains. Lava
tubes are indicated by meandering parallel lines.

Previously I have posted on this blog another work
from this series entitled, "The Alchemy of Inner
Earth."
