Inanna, the Prototypical Goddess of the Age of Aquarius
A CINDERELLA STAMP FROM AMPHORA, THE CONTINENT OF THE FUTURE

Inanna was a Sumerian Goddess, related to Ishtar. She is
sometimes depicted holding a vase. In this she recalls the
iconography of Aquarius, the waterbearer.

Amphora is the old name of the sign of Aquarius. Thus in
my creation of the land of Amphora, I was thinking of the
waterbearer.

Kuan Yin, the Chinese Goddess, also is usually depicted
with a vase of water.

The sculpture on this stamp was colorized by red iron oxide
that I gathered myself. The piece also includes a bit of white
ceramic glaze (not usually utilized in my ceramics).
