An Early Earth Painting From the 1970's
PAINTS MADE FROM NATURAL MATERIALS

This work harkens to a degree to the arts of the
Aborigines of Australia. In fact, it was painted with
a stick brush, much as the Australians do. In the
light angle chosen to photograph this work, the heavy
impasto paint stands out clearly in well defined light
and shadow.

Jaguar Woman
A COMMEMORATIVE STAMP FROM AMPHORA

The Amphoran Postal Union, in it's series of stamps
featuring Goddess icons, did not forget the heritage
of Mesoamerica.

Jaguar Woman is a sculpture created by the Postmaster
General of Amphora, who also happens to be the stamp's
designer, printer, perforator, and gummer.

The gum recipe of the Amphorans is a state secret of
the Empire of Amphora.

The hieroglyphs in this stamp's margins were transcribed
from the doorway of the Temple of the Jaguar, found
somewhere in the remote jungles of artistic imagination.

Mer, the Mother, a Prototypical Mermaid Goddess
STAMPS FROM THE MICRONATION OF AMPHORA

Many Egyptian queens were named Mer. The word means
both sea and mother. Many mermaid designations originated
with Mer. Thus we have Mari, Merreminde, Mary, Myrrha,
Moera, Moira, etc.

This stamp shows a small figurine that I created from clay. I
painted it with earth paints, from pigments that I gathered in
nature.

THE LOTUS POOL/ the lotus born divinities of Asia: with a few comments on the Apsaras and the Gandharvas of the Land of Mist/ mixed media digital art

The Water Lotus

Mermaids are generally reckoned to be of two basic
categories: the Nereids, or mermaids of the salt sea; and
Naiads, or mermaids of fresh waters, such as lakes, springs,
wells, and rivers.

In India the lotus seat of the gods and goddesses are called
Pushpaka. The great Goddess Lakshmi was born on a lotus
in the Milk Ocean. Innumerable examples of lotus-born
divinities can be found in the arts of the Buddhists and Hindus.

Generally the Apsaras, the consorts of the Gandharvas of the
Mist, are considered the generic mermaids of Vedic lore. In
the Rig Veda the Land of Mist in the origins of the world was
inhabited by these beings. The Gandharvas are the celestial
musicians.

Youthful Malaise

When one is young, hormones race through one's being
that wreak havoc with self composure. The evils of society
are blown out of proportion. In this work I was trying to
outdo the Existentialists. I had read Kierkegaard, Camus,
and others. Nothing seemed right with the world.

The Peruvian Legend of the Foam Born
THE INCA DOLPHIN KING

Manco Capac was the first of the Inca Emperors.
He was said to have been born of the waters of
Lake Titicaca. These waters are known to have a
high sea salt content.

He is said to be one of the Viracocha, or Foam
Born.

Legend has it that Manco Capac and his bride,
Macma Ocllo, were dolphin spirits.

Sea horses live in the briney waters of Lake
Titicaca to this day. Lake Titicaca and the Andes
Mountains have been pushed up out of the Pacific
Ocean over the centuries. The sea life that remains
there has adapted to the high elevation.

Nicaragua also has a lake with sea life. But the
waters of the lake there have lost their high salt
content.

the Kundalini reaches the third eye, Makara changes into
Bindu, a point of radiant light, according to Arthur Avalon
in this book, The Serpent Fire.

The Well of Sensation

A Byzantine Figure Study

The Well of Sensation incorporates a variety of
approaches to art. The landscape recalls Renaissance
art, while the figure, despite it's modernism, is a
reflection of studies of Byzantine art. The Byzantine
artists attempted to give their icons an otherworldly
aura. Light linear accents on a dark skin tone were
common.

The sky in this work is embellished with ecstatic
dashes of broad color. These enliven the landscape.

This work is about the mysticism of water. Water
is usually a symbol of emotions and feelings, hence
the title of the piece.

The waters of our oceans, rivers and springs are
facing many difficulties today. We all should pray
for clean water for everyone on this planet.
