MERMAID MOTHER OF THE FISHES

This figurine was featured on my fantasy stamps of
Amphora as "Mother of the Octopi." She has a large
fish symbol on her gown.

Mermaids are not always represented with fish tails
in artistic traditions. The Apsaras of India are a good
example of human-legged mermaids. In Japan Benten,
the sea goddess,  is seen with normal legs.

Some mermaids have double fins. There are many
different artistic traditions.
