NOTES ON THE PINK RIVER DOLPHINS

The pink dolphin appearing on the 3p (3 pythia) stamp
above is no idle fancy, but reflects an actual species of
river dolphins that swim the Amazon River.

These dolphins are called Bo, and are very sacred to
the Brazilian Indians. They are said to be shape-shifters
which can take human form and walk among us.

Today in Brazil when the paternal parentage of a child
is not known, it is written on the birth certificate, "Child
of the river dolphins."

Delphys means dolphin in Greek. The term also has
been utilized to indicate the womb. The Greeks viewed
themselves as dolphin or porpoise people, the Pelopidae.
The Peloponnesian Peninsula is named after the porpoise
king Pelops.

Other Dolphin People include the Chumash Indians of
the Santa Barbara area in California.
